I got a Nikon Coolpix L810. It's black and looks like a serious camera. Booyah. These pics are totally unedited, just the raw images, and they already look better than the best I could do with my previous camera and iPhoto.
That last made me laugh, so yes'm. Part of why I chose this one is that it has Ham-Handed Photographer Bumpers all over it. It's a more heavy-duty case, and actually has a neck strap so it's less likely to get dropped!
Seriously ... good shots. Nice, clean, crisp shots -- esp. of the dolls. Did you use a flash or just let the camera 'do it's thing'? Did you use the macro setting for the dolls? And ... love your puppy! Glad you love your Nikon. My Nikon is a Coolpix P80 & like you, I love it. Keep posting pics! ;-)
These are just turn-it-on-and-shoot pics, for the most part, although I did use the zoom a couple times--the dog was a bit further away from me than it looks, which is probably how I could get good shots, because I wasn't too close. I didn't use the macro at all, nope. HOW COOL IS THAT? ;D
I absolutely LOOOOVE my zoom feature. It'll zoom 18X, which is why I'm hauling around a light-weight tripod with me. Of course, if I can prop my arms on something, I'll zoom and shoot anywhere. I'm so glad there's a feature for 'shaky hands' as ... heavy sigh ... the older I get, I find I can't hold the camera as still as I'd like. Oh, well.
Try the macro feature, but with that, you probably should have a tripod. There are lots of really inexpensive ones -- I found one I loved at Best Buy over Christmas for about $39.95. Opens up easily, takes that camera quickly, and adjustable. Isn't taking pictures FUN???!!! Yay!
They are much cleaner and crisper than with the old camera. Very nice. Good investment.
ReplyDeleteNow don't break it. :-P

DeleteAnd the dog doesn't sem to mind being photographed with it!
ReplyDeleteThis camera doesn't have the same whistly-whine when it turns on as the other does, so I don't think she even *heard* it. BONUS!
DeleteHolly Marie! Such a shy girl. *Jonathan*
ReplyDeleteShe is. At least I know she won't willingly walk off with a stranger.
DeleteCool pix!! (*chuckle*)
